Fir Real?

This beautiful balsam fir is now gracing our living room. It's a fun tradition to go to Prairie Pine Plantation each year, drink hot cocoa, look for hidden squirrels, ride in a wagon, and find the perfect tree. This year, note that Annie is wearing shorts. You just never know in Nebraska.

Candyfest - er - Halloween 2017

This year, we had a movie theme. Princess Poppy from Trolls decided to show up at our house.

And from the Hunger Games trilogy, the valiant Miss Katniss Everdeen.

Wonder Woman also showed up to save the day! The girls had fun. The weather was COLD (and snowy!) And there was much chocolate to be had.

Memory Lane

I love the Facebook feature that lets you look back in time. This week has been filled with some precious pictures and videos.

Go, Fight, Win

Our little cheerleader got to cheer at the first home football game, and perform with the dance team at halftime. She seemed to be enjoying herself and loves to be in the spotlight. Another little ham?

Cross Country - September Meets

Dayna competed in several more meets this month. She continues to hold a steady pace, regardless of the length of the race. She can really kick in a nice sprint to finish a race, or to power herself up a hill. The hot, humid temperatures have been brutal, but this girl pushes through to finish strong. I am so incredibly proud her her tenacity in this new venture. She has one final meet on Monday.

Multnomah Falls

The month started on a sad note when a group of kids decided it would be fun to thrown some fireworks into a dry forest. In no time at all, the beautiful Columbia River Gorge went up in flames. I have no doubt that it will once again be one of the most beautiful places on earth, but I don't know if I will be able to see the Gorge again the way I know and love it.

We decided this summer to just leave the camera in the car when we stopped by...after all, we see Multnomah Falls every time we drive through. How many pictures do we really need? I'd settle for just one more...

2017 Solar Eclipse

The Wilson girls had the opportunity to experience 99.4% totality in Ashland of the Great Solar Eclipse of 2017. Dan had the chance to experience complete totality in Lincoln. It was a pretty spectacular sight, showing God's amazing creativity and power.

We were all smart enough to not try to take pictures, so these are taken from the Internet. I did get to help Annie's Kindergarten class during the eclipse. I don't know that they fully appreciated the enormity of the event - but the glasses were pretty cool.

Pete the Cat Party - It's All Good!

Annie had a particularly groovy time with her Pete the Cat party. Huge thanks to the local library for their space and easy decorations, as well as Pinterest!
